What’s this? A blog post?

Thanks for standing by, all.

It’s been an exciting few weeks, and I’ve yet to have a moment to really sit down and write here.  This blog is not going away, and I’m still trying to figure out how exactly to blend this blog and my new job.  The reason isn’t because of any conflicts of interest, and Blue State has been very encouraging of me and my blog.  But before, I was in quite an opportune situation, in that I could share my ideas with those in politics.  Now, I’m not so sure that I want to give my competitors the edge ;)

What’s the line between encouraging new ideas and giving away your secrets?  It’s something I have to think about, and it’s probably something that I’ll just have to figure out as I blog again.

Also, I’ve been pondering adding a more personal element to this blog.  I’m realizing that the blogosphere probably needs one less pundit and one more “real person.”  I’ve tried to add my personality to posts in the past, but I’m realizing once again that I want to talk with people, as opposed to talking at people.  I think that David’s done a spectacular job of achieving this balance, and I love how it’s allowed for his blog to be a nice home to many comments by wonderful people.

Rest assured, the craziness of the transition is over, and I’m back (I know I was keeping people up at night by not blogging).  It’ll be an interesting next few weeks here, but I’ll find my blogging way.

  1. Why not write about your experiences at Blue State? This will give a healthy mix of your personal and professional lives, and keep it interesting for your readers. If your experience there is anything like your first week, you will have plenty to write about.

I am envious of your open support for blogging and if I knew I had that, my writing would be much more interesting.
