Hey, Did You Know About This “YouTube” Debate-y Thingy?

Ah, yes. I’m quite witty. Thus, I have to write witty titles like that.

In case you haven’t heard, YouTube and CNN have been fielding questions from citizens, which will be played at tonight’s debate at 7 PM EST. Candidates will then answer these pre-approved questions.  The only problem, of course, is that while they’re touting it as citizen-driven, all of the questions are pre-approved by the producers.  Who knows what the determining factors are for picking these questions, and all it really means to me is that there’s still a huge filter.  Perhaps they should have asked the YouTube community to actually vote on which questions should be asked.  You know, like “democracy.”

I’ll be livetwittering both the debate itself and John Edwards’ livechat after the debate, where he will answer questions that his community votes on as the most pressing questions to be answered. In other words, the people will pick the question, as opposed to the CNN producers.

Hmm…might you be able to pick up on my candidate preference? I don’t know…I don’t know…

  1. You’re such a cynic.

I’m heading down to the debate — our flight keeps getting delayed - may not make it.
