Good morning, all! Sorry that it’s Monday — it happens.
I had some fun this weekend — and got a kick out of amusing my dad and David “It’s Not a Lecture” Wescott with calls from their favorite baseball players. XM and the MLB (for a few months now, it seems) are offering a really fun, personalized phone call marketing campaign called “Call Stars.”

Via a drop-down box, you enter your name, the person’s name, and some defining characteristics of the person you’re calling. You preview what the call will be, and then send it off. Derek Jeter then called my dad, and David Ortiz caused David Wescott to miss his wife’s game-winning tennis play (sorry ’bout that!). Fun stuff.
The company, Varitalk, can also do it for politics, and although they don’t currently have any case studies on their website, I could see it being a really fun way to do fundraising and create a kind of “virtual handshake.”
