Technorati’s metrics system has changed

Technorati’s unveiled some sort of new metrics for blogs.

The information used to have the number of total incoming links, and the number of unique blogs that drove traffic to you.

Now it has some sort of “authority” rating and a rank.

I have no idea what this means.  This blog is ranked “19.”  I thought for a minute that this may be the number of blogs that link to my site, but that’s not true.  Engadget’s rating is “27,494.”  DailyKos’ is “11,758.”

Any ideas?  Nothing on Technorati’s blog.

I liked the old statistics that Technorati used to give, so I wish I had those.  They’re fairly important numbers.
