Lunchtime Links for March 29th

Good afternoon all! A few things that caught my attention this fine Thursday:

1. Rocketboom takes on Twitter: This video sums it up perfectly.

2. Jaffe Juice: Why Sanjaya Malakar will not win American Idol: An interesting article on “smart mods” and American Idol. The question is, though: which mob is smarter, and how will this impact the final result?

3. David Pogue: The Anthropology of Cellphones: David types up his thoughts after viewing a presentation from Nokia’s Jan Chipchase, their resident cultural anthropologist. I think that David’s take that Chipchase’s observations aren’t “profound” is an interesting observation, which leads me to a hypothesis: aren’t most of us meta-bloggers, in a way, pseudo-online anthropologists? Or am I just wishfully thinking that I didn’t leave my years of psychology, sociology and anthropology behind?

4. Searching for Ads Offline: The New York Times has an interesting article on Google’s entrance into traditional advertising. Definitely a good read.
