The Grand Resurgance/Quick Links for March 7th

Oy! A week of being sick, a week of hard work, and a week of writing contribution deadlines. But alas, I’m back, I’m healthy, and I’m blogging. If you think this has been easy, let me just tell you that after not booting my RSS reader for a few days, and opening it to find over 1,500 stories just waiting for me, it was no vacation.

So, what’s out there that’s gotten my attention today?

1. User-Generated Mitt: David All takes a look at user-submitted videos of Mitt Romney supporters explaining why they support Romney for ‘08. His take: “some of the answers are compelling. Some aren’t. But all are original and unique. And that’s worth something.”

2. Kyte.tv: DownloadSquad has the scoop. Kyte will “enable any user the ability to create and publish their very own TV channels that can be accessible everywhere.” Sounds promising. I’ve talked about Joost quite a bit, and am planning on talking about the “channels” implication — the idea of competing RSS-style channels and what the bottom line is for both paid and earned media. This fits nicely right into that. I’ll try to write that one up in the next day or so, especially because of this new offering.

3. “A Brave New Wikiworld“: An interesting commentary that just came my way, published in the Washington Post ed-op section on Feb. 24th. Cass Sunstein, professor at the University of Chicago, talks about Hayek, wikis, open-source projects, and pretty much everything covered in one of my recent favorite books, Wikinomics.

  1. Welcome back to the pool. Good to see you’re back at it.

  2. Thanks! Every day, it was a fight within, swearing each day to myself that I’d blog. It really makes you appreciate the “hardcore” bloggers who post many, many times a day.
